Restaurant Closure Information
On Friday, February 21st, The Spoon restaurant (formerly The Gateway Spoon) announced that it will close for business on March 17, 2025. The Spoon will continue to maintain regular business hours until our last day of business on Sunday, March 16, 2025.
We are currently exploring opportunities for how this space can continue to serve our neighbors and customers but do not have a firm timeline for reopening.
While we’re sad to close our doors, we’re proud of the successes our business created for students of the culinary arts program at Gateway Mission who put in the hours and hard work to learn at our restaurant. Graduates of the program have gone on to successful careers in dining, and we’re excited to see where life takes them next.

Can I still visit?
Yes, The Spoon will continue to maintain regular business hours until our last day of business on Sunday, March 16, 2025. We will also continue to offer our Daily Deals specials through our last day. Click here to view our full menu.
What will happen to current staff?
We spoke to the employees who will be affected by the closure earlier this week, and we remain committed to helping employees transition to new employment either with our existing dining partner or with other hospitality businesses in our region.
How will you redeem gift cards?
Gift cards will be valid through the last day of business. As a “thank you” to our community for your support, The Spoon will honor double the value of all gift card balances through our last day of business on Sunday, March 16, 2025.
When will you reopen?
It’s our intention to take time to reevaluate how our business can best serve the needs of our community. We are currently exploring opportunities for how this space can continue to serve our neighbors and customers but do not have a firm timeline for reopening.
